Headless SaaS

I haven’t read much about headless saas here so I’ll try to explain why companies are going headless in a post-agentic world
In a traditional SaaS, the product has one UI and the logic is tied to that interface.
In a headless SaaS, the core product is API-first and the UI becomes optional and customizable. Because users can build their own apps, agents or dashboards that call those APIs.
If you’re SaaS is “closed”, in the sense that people can’t build on top of it or can’t create agents to use your product in an automated way, then your product becomes less interesting than your competitors. It’s less flexible, less usable.
Going headless also has tremendous impact on usage and pricing strategy. More about that later.
